Amiri Khaman
Ingredients
- 225g Gram Dal
- 100g Cooking Oil
- 100g Milk
- ½ teaspoon chopped Green Chilli
- 1 teaspoon chopped Coriander Leaves
- 50g Desiccated Coconut
- 1 teaspoon Mustard Seeds
- Salt to taste
- Black Pepper to taste
- ½ teaspoon Tumeric Powder
Method
- Soak the dal in water overnight.
- Grind the dal to a semi solid consistency.
- Heat the oil to a very high temperature.
- Add mustard seeds and green chillies to hot oil.
- Add immediately the dal paste to the hot oil stirring occasionally.
- To the cooking mixture add 2 tablespoons milk.
- Cook this mixture for approximately 4 minutes.
- Add tumeric powder, salt and remaining milk.
- Stir this constantly for 20 minutes.
- Spread the mixture on a plate.
- Garnish the dish with chopped coriander leaves and coconut.
- Chill and cut into the desired shapes.
- Serve as a snack.
